“Operation: Marylyn’s Education Fund”

We first met Marylyn while filming the “Poverty? or Prosperity in the Philippines? Court of Opinion” series. Marylyn and her family showed us kindness, hospitality and charm.

Our supporters were immediately impressed with the family and through your support we were able to upgrade the upstairs bedroom to a more safe and suitable environment. Please see update below.

Marylyn is in her first semester of the 12th grade now and is currently wishing to attend vocational school to be a Personal Care Assistant after graduation. This is a six month course that upon completion, would give her the certification needed to go to work in the healthcare field as a personal care assistant.

Our goal is to raise enough funds for Marylyn to be able to attend vocational school without any of the financial worries that often come with secondary education and instead be able to focus all her attention on studies.

We are still calculating a final budget for this campaign but we anticipate that with tuition and other related schooling costs as well as transpiration etc. it will be somewhere around $2k.

As always we will keep everyone updated on the progress of this project as we move forward and contributors to this campaign will also have access to the “supporters only” project page.

UPDATE: Since improving Marylyn’s family home we were informed that the Philippines government will be relocating the entire neighborhood bye the end of the year. We have an ongoing campaign located HERE to help raise funds to make sure the family has suitable living conditions when they move.

Our goal is to be practical and logical while not interfering with their normal standard of living.
